Dear Lucia:

	Many thanks for the book of Russian folk tales, which
Vladimir Lifschitz brought home to me.  My son Timothy, who
is three years old, enjoys having them read to him, and likes
retelling the stories to his nanny who doesn't read Russian
and therefore has to take his word for what they say.  Enclosed
is a picture of Timothy and me reading about the boy made
of clay.  Do you have children?  How old?

	We were all very sad here to learn of the death of
Andrei Ershov.  Among his talents that will not be easily
replaced was one for international friendship.
